Greetings from Florida… sorry for the long wait (had to drive across the country, that’s all haha).  Well here we are we are finally at number 1.  There have been some great hobbies that I think all of you should at least try, but my favorite thing to do on my free time is go Golfing.  Even though it is very hard and frustrating at times.  When I go out on the course I really wouldn’t call it Golfing, I would call it “swinging very hard at a small white ball sitting on a little white stand and praying it goes well.”  Now the reason I like to golf so much is not only because its fun but  because it’s very relaxing (other than my back hurting from swinging so hard).  

Now I have been very fortunate to be able to golf on some very nice golf courses in my day, my favorite course would have to be Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California.  When I say ‘wow’ I mean WOW this golf course is like a dream come true, just a sacred ground of green grass and while rounding the back nine you get the pleasure of taking in the West Coast’s most treasured asset: the Pacific Ocean .  I have also been lucky enough to play in 3 celebrity golf tournaments hosted by: Torii Hunter, BJUpton, and the Anaheim Ducks.  I’m still baffled how I made the list of “Celebrity Golfers” but somehow I did, and I am very thankful for all the opportunities and rad goodie bags they give!

I came pretty close to winning a few Longest Drive competitions as well.   There is just something satisfying about swinging as hard as you can at a ball and watching it go 300 yards. It often doesn’t land in the middle of the fairway… often to the left or right, but trying to find it is the fun part right?   Well I hope you liked my first series of blogs and stay tuned for a contest coming up.  Also let me know what you guys want to hear about  I want write about what you want to hear.  I aim to please.

I have always been a Hockey fan, I don’t know if it’s because I have always liked to go ice skating being a so cal surfer kid, or just I liked the speed of the game and the fighting.  That is how this hobby started about 11 years ago, but as the years went on I started to learn the game and really appreciate how the game is played and that’s when I really started getting into it.

I mean Hockey is the best sport to watch (and I say that meaning always 2nd to baseball because I truly enjoy watching baseball even though I play it everyday).  I started getting into how different players play the game and started nit picking how the Ducks played and I even played GM for a while figuring out what players they needed to make a run at the Stanley Cup haha.  Now there’s so many people out there that say that hockey is so boring and this and that and that really is a bold statement seeing that the sport with the most action and players hitting the puck 100 mph all around the ice and the players have only a thin piece of plastic covering their eyes, just waiting to get crushed.  Not to mention you have to keep your head on a swivel at all times for that bone crushing hit.  Yeah sounds pretty boring to me… If I could trade jobs for a day I would want to trade it with Ducks’ Forward/Enforcer George Parros he’s the sweetest player in the league by far, plus I wouldn’t be far off with my stache haha.

This one I’m pretty sure all of you can relate to.  It consists of: Biking, Surfing, Hiking, and just being outdoors in general.  I really enjoy being outside and being in the fresh air.  If you haven’t met me you wouldn’t  know, but I can’t sit still, and must be constantly doing something.  And that makes for an unhappy Bally when I’m stuck indoors.  I feel like all of these things help you get away from your daily life and the stress that it brings.  When I’m outdoors biking, hiking and surfing I feel like I’m in my own little Bally world haha.  I mean what’s better than packing a lunch, grabbing the old hiking boots and going up to the dirt hills with some friends and loved ones and taking a day-long hike? Hey that has a nice ring to it, that could be an opening line to a movie. Fresh air is the only kind of air that we all should be breathing.  Now when I walk out side of my house and turn down the street I see the Pacific Ocean and it makes for a great bike ride with many great photo opportunities.  But the only thing standing in my way of the beautiful ocean is only about 4 huge hills which is so much fun on the way down but on the way back OH BOY is it a workout and a half.  Sometimes it makes me want to ride away from the ocean.

Now you might say, “Bally, your previous two hobbies have been inside” and your right, but my idea of a perfect day is when the weather is just right I would go hiking with my Ps3 to the top of that mountain and just play video games breathing the freshest air while grooming my ’stache and doing my final 2 hobbies that have yet to be revealed. Now yes that was a dream that has yet to come true but hey can’t we all dream?

Now, I want to know a little about all your hobbies, fill me in people don’t be scared to comment!

This is one that is near and dear to my heart, it’s a very sophisticated and elite hobby, it really challenges the limits of your intelligence… and that is the art of playing video games.  Well, PS3 to be precise.  To say that I like video games or that I enjoy playing them would be a huge understatement.  Go to Youtube and search crazy gamer, yep, that’s me, screaming and jerking around with a controller in my hand.  (For the 20 people that actually went to Youtube to search for my gamer video, it was an exaggeration.. easy.)

My favorite game is NHL10 not only because Im a huge hockey fan but it really is the most fun game a man can buy.  Now there’s also something else you should know about me, I love the Anaheim Ducks and always have and when I play online I play with the Ducks and the Ducks only.  I also challenge people on Twitter, and if you are up for a beat down then challenge me, my gamer name is Ghengiskhan40.  However please don’t commit my BIGGEST pet peeve: quitting the game if you’re losing.  Take it like a man if you  can’t handle my sick ice skills, son!

I want to talk a little about hobbies. I know that everyone has them and loves them.  For me, a hobby is something that makes me relax and something that I enjoy doing. Over the next 5 days I will count down my 5 favorite hobbies.

NUMBER 5.

This hobby is new to me and my face, I enjoy taking care of my mustache, now people out there will say that it’s not a hobby and there’s no way one can enjoy grooming a mustache… well obviously that person has never met me.  Everyone that has a ’stache knows what I’m talking about, it takes time, effort, (sometimes a little ‘Just For Men’) and love to keep up with a great ’stache.  With all the sweet product out there now a day there are so many different ways you can attack that beautiful fur that lays across your upper lip.  I have checked out many different ’stache websites, blogs, and/or twitter pages that have helped my stache lay evenly on my lip.

I have come across some superb sport staches such as Clay Zavada, George Parros and Rollie Fingers, just to name a few.  People may also ask: why a stache?  I say: why no stache?  I want to have some fun and be different, the average man has a clean shaven upper lip with no style and nothing to look at on the face, I am not that guy.  Can you tell?

I plan to connect with the fans as much as possible, through insight in my blogs, photos, videos and answering some of your questions. I will keep you up-to-date on anything and everything that is going on in my life and also have some fun games, contests and giveaways. I will also be doing a day-by-day pic and update of my world famous ‘STACHE and be doing a weekly Ustream. This will be a lot of fun, and like always, I want to hear from all of my fans and tell me how I can make it better.

It’s something that I have taken joy and put lots of love and ’stache wax into it. What I want to do with this is have you fans tell me what you want to see in a sweet ’stache, i.e., different colors, cuts, and styles.

Well, for the first month after the season all I did is pretty much hangout and play video games.

This offseason was different for me. I did something that I have never done before. I got married to my wife, Ashley, and if that doesn’t get you ready for the season, wow I don’t know what you can do … haha.

Once things start heating up, I will start to workout and lift weights, Palates, Yoga, and lots of stretching and running. About December, I started to throw and that’s when I started to get the itch to get back and play.

Some other things I like to do in the offseason is hang out with friends, play video games, and watch football and hockey.
